The Top Cities for Public Education in the United States
In the grand tapestry of education across the United States, the significance of a robust public school system cannot be overstated. It forms the bedrock of our society, shaping the minds of future leaders, innovators, and contributors to the greater good.
The Methodology
The people at Niche.com wanted to know where one could find the best of America’s public high schools, so compared school systems nationwide using a number factors that contribute to the overall educational experience.
The Academics Grade, weighted at 60%, is determined by assessing state assessment proficiency, college enrollment data, and survey responses from both students and parents. Cultural and Diversity Grade, carrying a weight of 12.5%, is based on factors such as racial and economic diversity, along with feedback on school culture. The inclusion of Parent/Student Surveys, accounting for 10%, offers valuable insights into the overall experiences of students and parents.
The Teachers Grade (10%) takes into account teacher salary, absenteeism, state test results, and survey responses about teachers. The methodology also includes Clubs & Activities Grade (2.5%), Resources & Facilities Grade (2.5%), and Sports Grade (2.5%), each drawing from expenses per student and survey responses to assess the school’s offerings and facilities.
