Finding someone special is a lot easier than it used to be thanks to the advent of online dating sties. No more dragging yourself to singles events or asking friends and family if they know someone. Now millions of singles are within reach on free apps on the smart phone right in your pocket.
But dating still isn’t exactly easy. Everything from city size and gender ratios to cost of an average date can still be working against you—or in your favor.
The folks over at WalletHub were curious to know which places in America had the best all around singles scenes, and so compared 180 cities on 32 different metrics to find out where it was easiest to meet somebody.
With the numbers crunched, Virginia Beach came in at number 28. We scored particularly well on metrics in the categories of “economics” and “fun and recreation,” where the city ranked 26th and 20th respectively.
The city benefits from having a large population, having lots to do, and boasting an affordable cost of living compared to other big cities. This will continue to make it a draw for young adults as living costs in larger cities continue to baloon.
So pull out your phone and fire up that dating app. It turns out we live in one of the best places in the country for you to find that spark.
