Tall Ships, Big Sounds, and Waterfront Vibes

The countdown is on: Norfolk Harborfest returns to Town Point Park June 6–8, 2025, and the full music lineup has just been announced. As one of the country’s longest-running, free maritime festivals, Harborfest continues to be a cornerstone of summer in coastal Virginia—celebrating the city’s deep ties to the sea with three days of tall ships, waterfront fun, and live music from national and local acts.

A Lineup as Diverse as the Waterfront

This year’s music roster has something for everyone, whether you’re into funk, country, tribute acts, or indie up-and-comers. Headliners for the weekend include:

  • Lettuce – The dynamic funk/jazz fusion collective known for high-energy grooves.

  • Chase Rice – Country fans can look forward to hits like Eyes on You and Ready Set Roll.

  • The Big Payback – A tribute to the legendary James Brown that promises an unforgettable performance.

And that’s just the start. Other acts on deck include:

  • Karina Rykman

  • Three Sheets to the Wind

  • Fuzz Band

  • BJ Griffin Band

  • Cody Christian

  • Roberta Lea

  • Allen Hudson and the Halfmoons

  • Grateful Jed

  • Community Witch

  • Kill Devil Disco

  • Fox and The Bear

  • Ju Ju Drums

With multiple stages and performances throughout the weekend, the park will be alive with music from afternoon into night.

 Honoring Norfolk’s Maritime Roots

Harborfest isn’t just about the music. It’s a tribute to Norfolk’s proud nautical history—a legacy that stretches back centuries and helped shape the city into the Navy town it is today. The tradition began in 1976 during the nation’s Bicentennial and has grown into a massive celebration featuring historic tall ships, naval displays, and the signature Parade of Sail, where vessels of all kinds arrive in a stunning procession down the Elizabeth River.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can explore interactive maritime exhibits, enjoy hands-on activities for kids, sample food from regional vendors, and watch as the skyline lights up with one of the East Coast’s largest fireworks shows on Saturday night. New for this year: a high-tech drone show is scheduled to wow the crowd with synchronized light displays over the harbor.

 Festival Details

Whether you’re a Norfolk native or a first-time visitor, Harborfest is a can’t-miss experience that blends waterfront history, local pride, and the joy of live music. Mark your calendars, rally your crew, and get ready to drop anchor in downtown Norfolk this June.
