How To Obtain A North Carolina Fishing License
- Go to the NC Wildlife Resources Commission website at https://www.ncwildlife.org/licensing/hunting-fishing-trapping-licenses.
- Click on the “Buy a License” button located at the top of the page, which takes you to ALVIN, the automated license and vessel information network.
- Select option #2, New or existing customer search, and enter your information and then click “Search.” Then click “Add Customer” at the bottom.
- Fill in the rest of your information, and click “Continue” to get to License & Permit Info, where you’ll select the type of license. Choose the type of license you want to purchase, either annual or temporary, and select the appropriate duration.
- Click continue and review your order, then click “Continue” to get to the payment page.
- Once your payment is processed, your license will be mailed to you if you selected that option or you can print it out if you selected the self-print option.
That’s it! You can now go fishing in North Carolina with your newly obtained fishing license.
