Residents of Virginia Beach can now use an online tool to find out which district they belong to for local elections. The tool, available at this link, allows users to enter their address and determine which of the city’s newly redrawn ten districts they reside in.
Virginia Beach recently adopted a new local election system that replaces the previous at-large system where residents voted for all seats. Under the new system, residents in each of the ten districts will elect one City Council representative, and all residents will vote for the mayor.
To use the tool, residents simply need to enter their street address and the tool will provide information on which district they belong to.
