Virginia Beach City Council has recently announced that dogs will be allowed on the boardwalk for longer hours during the summer months.
The previous restrictions on our furry friends had been in place since 2014, and limited the time that dogs were allowed on the boardwalk to the morning hours of 6am to 10am. Starting this summer the new extended hours will allow dogs to be on the boardwalk from 6am to 7pm.
City Council hopes that this move will make the Virginia Beach boardwalk more welcoming and accommodating to dog owners, while still maintaining a clean and safe environment for all visitors.
