Two Of The Country’s Best
Two Hampton Roads area hospitals have been recognized as being among the best in the country recently by healthcare information provider Healthgrades.
Healthgrades ranks hospitals by patient outcomes, safety, and experience, adjusting for individual patient risk factors like age, gender and medical condition. Each year, those hospitals in the top 5 percent are awarded the “America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award.”
Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach not only makes it into the top 5 percent, but also the top 2 percent, and so also receives the “America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award.” The hospital received particularly strong scores in the areas of critical care, pulmonary, and neurosciences.
Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton is on the list for the third year running, and received strong scores in bariatric surgery, critical care, neurosciences, orthopedic, and spine surgery.
Both hospitals are also recent recipients of the organization’s “Patient Safety Excellence Award,” given yearly to those hospitals that excel at avoiding preventable complications like infections and medical errors.
